My cat LOVES this vertical scratcher! I am pleased that the vertical surface is dual-sided, so I can flip it around once she has used up one of the sides. The cardboard bits are messy when she scratches, but they fall down into the horizontal surface, so the mess is contained. I have it stationed in front of one of our sofa arms to deter scratching on furniture. Love it!

I bought this for my youngest cat, Maddie who is 2 and loves to scratch upright. I thought this would be a perfect scratcher for her. She took to it right away. She even plays with the ball sometimes. That's Tigerlily in the photo. She likes to scratch on a flat surface. So it's perfect for her as well.
